Sculpting A Island

The winning concept is the island concept with a underwater cave.

Based of this concept I will create hopefully a interesting underwater scene for the next few weeks.

First few days I started with creating the base mesh of the rock cliff base as a low poly mesh to be exported to mudbox for sculpting.

I encountered a problem trying to import into Mudbox where when it imported to Mudbox then adding a subdivision level would either freeze the computer working on or would crash Mudbox.

After a bit of reworking the orginal mesh in maya, deleting history and general upkeeping i was able to export the mesh to mudbox with success ready to try and sculpt.

The base mesh to be exported and sculpted is the "land" in this image.
