Music Muse 1: I Was Born For This
Welcome to the Music Muse, A place for me to share music tracks that I enjoy or tracks that inspire me.
As a 90's kid I have always enjoyed making mix tapes and compilation CD's for road trips. As Cd's don't really exist now, for me to scratch that itch this is a space to share sounds, tracks and music.
Music that would like to share with whoever wants to listen.
Maybe you will listen and enjoy it discover something new or rediscover something you have forgotten.
I have a lot of different tracks that I would like to share, but has been hard to decided on where to start. So today I turn towards video games. Games have been a constant part of my life, a lot of my taste in music has been greatly influenced from various games I have enjoyed.
So for this Music Muse I turned to a beautiful older game that I adore due to its soundtrack, is Journey.
Track: I was Born For this
Artist: Austin Wintory
Vocals: Lisbeth Scott
This track is is the song that plays on the end credits of Journey. I like this track for its haunting yet inspirational violin sounds and the crystalline vocals.
Interestingly this track is sung in FIVE different languages. (Latin, Greek, Old English, Japanese, French)
The lyrics come from a variety of different ancient historical texts and poetry. As someone who enjoyed Ancient History studies, I find this pretty interesting.
Stat sua cuique dies (To each his day is given) Stat sua cuique dies (To each his day is given)
Maél is mé tó féran (Time it is for me to go)
Ahleto men mei nostos (Lost is my homecoming) Ahleto men mei nostos (Lost is my homecoming)
C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this) Kono michi ya / Yuku hito nishi ni (Along this road / Goes no one) Kono michi ya / Aki no kure (Along this road / This autumn eve) C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this) Ne me plaignez pas (Do not pity me) C'est pour cela que je suis née (I was born for this)
The track can be bought here.
